Week 3: IQ

I think that everyone will agree with me about the fact that the IQ test was unbelievably HARD. So many questions were completely unsolvable. Either i'm really stupid compared to the rest of the world or that test was unreasonable. The vocabulary questions seemed pretty simple, but the long math problems got me I think. Also the random shapes that hurt your head when you looked at them were really annoying. I believe that if the class period would have been longer then i would've gotten a more accurate score because i didn't have the time to think about every question thoroughly. I had to rush through and skip many questions because i knew that the bell was about to ring. The reason why i rushed to get through is because i didn't want to have to take the test at home. My over all IQ score was 97. good or bad? i have no idea. so i guess y'all have to tell me.

I found an article outside of ebsco because i finished this blog at home. My article analyzed all the different aspects of an iq test. the different categories are verbal, numerical and spatial skills, and also your analytical reasoning with the provided data. After reasding this article i think that i gained more respect for an iq test. After i got my score back i was a little confused on whether it was accurate or not, but i think that if i had more time to put into it then my test score would be more accurate. http://www.personality-and-aptitude-career-tests.com/iq-test-scores.html

  1. i totally agree about the vocab being easier than math! i normally do pretty well with math.. but that's when i have equations and stuff in front of me. words take a lot less time to analyze in my opinion.
i dunno really what to think of IQ tests without seeing one that's i dunno.. by a scientist or professor or something.. but i agree that it would've been better had we had more time

I found this link-- and it's posted on my blog. It shows like the "rankings" of IQ scores.

I agree with you, and I don't think that even tests any part of our abilities accurately.

Rushing is also another factor that got most of us, which is why I don't think this test is accurate!

  3. Yeah, all those questions with shapes and all that spatial stuff really made my head hurt. I think i did pretty well on them, it just took a while to figure it all out.

  6. Yea, the shape question made my head hurt!! lol. But i thought the math problems were simple. For me, the hard questions were the ones about vocabulary.

  8. I thought the vocab was hard! :( You've always had a really high vocabulary level though.

  9. The vocab seemed pretty easy to me as well. Well, ever since the summer, when I decided I want to be a writer, I been trying to learn new words. I know, I'm a loser.
